Lungs and Skin Hydration

The Lungs are our best defense, so take care of them wisely.

In Asian medicine, the Lungs not only influence the sinuses but they also control the skin. Our skin is our largest defense against pathogens.

Here are a few home suggestions:

  1. Our Lungs need moisture to perform their best. Hydrate taking in 60 oz. of water daily. If you are a coffee drinker of more than 2 cups daily, add another 8 oz. Also take that humidifier out of the closet and plug it in. Moisture is good!

  2. Take a shower every other day to avoid drying out your skin. If daily showering is preferred, put moisturizer on your skin while still damp.

  3. Get enough sleep. The job of the Lungs is to move energy through the system. If you are sleep deprived the Lungs will function under half steam. You want the energy in your Lungs to be in top shape, just like you.

Breathe, drink, sleep repeat.
