Treatments
Depending on your case I may use a variety of techniques to help get you back into balance. See below for more details and short explanatory videos.
Acupuncture
Using hair thin sterile and disposable needles inserted shallowly, I use acupuncture to balance the body and relieve holding patterns that cause illness and discomfort. Acupuncture alone can relieve pain, stress, and anxiety, as well as move stubborn conditions through endorphin release and rejuvenated circulation. Acupuncture is also showing relief and results with COVID recovery.
Ear Acupuncture
Ear Acupuncture is a complete system unto itself, a coordinated map of the body. I use small sterile needles placed in the ear at strategic points to stimulate pain relief response and calm the nervous system. I use it as an adjunct to body acupuncture.
Electro-Acupuncture
Electro Acupuncture connects acupuncture needles to a gentle electrical current (9 volt) similar to a TENS unit. It provides a gentle stimulation that increases the benefits of the treatment. I use electro-acupuncture for treating sciatic pain, joint pain, and muscle injury.
Cupping
Cupping is the placement of clean glass cups on the body, often on the back. The cups move blood to the affected area, relaxing your muscles and relieving pain and tightness. I often use cupping for muscle injury, migraines, and shoulder, neck, and back pain.
Herbal Therapy, Plasters, and Salves
I use Chinese herbs to support and enhance the effects of acupuncture treatment. Herbs are taken orally over a period of a week and then I review and rebalance the system. Herbs themselves balance and support the body. Commonly available salves and plasters are used to relieve pain and nervous system stress.
Laser Acupuncture / Cold Laser Treatment
Laser acupuncture is the application of laser light to reach deeper locations on the body, reducing pain in joints. I use a 500 milliwatt cold laser on areas of inflammation. It is typically used on joints including the spine. Laser treatment reduces inflammation and promotes the movement of blood in congested areas. Likewise, it is very effective for skin conditions and scars.
